12-year-old accused of killing sister appears in court to hear murder charges
Wed May 15, 2013
I thought from the moment this story was on the news that this kid was responsible. As horrible and sad that that is, the intruder story just doesn't fit.
Long before he was charged, Ariel Castro was accuser in sexual assault case

This case keeps getting more and more disturbing. Really turns my stomach.
Suicide rates go up for middle-aged, CDC finds
Thu May 2, 2013
I agree. If your quality of life is gone and you don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and treat or maintain life, what's a person to do? I think disease plays a big role in the increase of suicide.

Fast-food workers strike, citing low wages: 'It's not enough'
Thu Apr 4, 2013
In my day, fast food jobs were jobs that teenagers held. What's unfortunate is that because the economy is what is, many adults are having to work these jobs because there are few other jobs that pay to support a family. Sadly this does not appear to be changing anytime soon.

Teen skier, missing for two days, built snow cave to keep warm
Tue Mar 5, 2013
Glad to hear this. That's one thing Boy Scouts taught my son. They did a trip to Tahoe and camped in snow caves. My son thought it was really cool to sleep in a snow cave. They really teach kids survival in the wilderness. Sadly not everyone is as lucky as this kid.

I had his medical book when raising my kids - was the best book to have for reference of when to call the doctor. Rest in Peace.
